Standard Lock Model of the Mamolica™-Enabled SD Memory Card

Mamolica™ uses the information and stored in an NFC-enabled smartphone or tablet and password to lock and unlock SD memory cards. In Locked mode, the card is not recognized as an SD memory card, making it impossible to read or write to the card. Once locked, the card can be unlocked only with the smartphone or tablet that was used to lock it. Therefore, Mamolica™ helps lower the risk that important data will leak in the event of a card being lost or stolen.

Operating precautions
  • For the usage of Mamolica™-enabled SD memory cards, see the help information available with the Mamolica™ app. The help information about Mamolica™ is also available on this website.
  • Be sure to change the initial system password before using a Mamolica™-enabled SD memory card. The system password is required for NFC communication and serves as a basis for the security of Mamolica™. This system password is different from the unlock password that you set in Advanced mode. The system password is intended to be used by a group of people (e.g., a company or a department) who share the same security scheme. Cards with different system passwords cannot be used with the same NFC-enabled device. Change the initial system password before using a card. Do not forget, disclose or leak your system password to an unauthorized person. If you forget your system password, you will be unable to perform NFC communication with the card or initialize the card. Neither you nor we will be able to reset your system password.
  • If you loose the associated NFC-enabled device, forget your Advanced-mode password, or fail to change the lock settings prior to the expiration date, you will be unable to unlock the card and you must initialize the card. Initializing a card will erase all the data stored in the card.
  • The Mamolica™ app includes a card initializer. Initializing a card clears the lock settings of the card and erases all data stored in it. You can choose whether to enable or disable an initialization (by Settings). Disabling an initialization means that if you cannot change the lock settings or unlock the card, neither you nor we will be able to reset or initialize the card and the card will become unusable.
Limitation of Liability
  • We assume no liability whatsoever for any and all damages caused by fire, earthquake, third-party action, or any other such eventuality, and for any damage due to the intentional, negligent, incorrect, or improper use of a card under normal conditions, or use of a card under abnormal conditions.
  • We assume no liability whatsoever, including, but not limited to, any and all damages, lost profits, and claims from third parties arising from your use or from your inability to use a card.
  • We assume no liability whatsoever for any and all damages caused by your failure to follow any of the up-to-date instructions on the use of a card, including those provided in the Operating Precautions.
  • We assume no liability whatsoever for any and all losses or corruptions of any data caused by or relating to your use of a card.  (In no event, do we offer a data recovery service.)
  • We assume no liability whatsoever for any and all damages caused by malfunction or any other problems resulting from the use of a card in combination with a device or software.
  • We assume no liability whatsoever for any and all damages caused by your forgetting, disclosing, leaking, or being leaked to unauthorized persons of your system or Advanced-mode password.
